This Free Third Thursday, celebrate the launch of the full-color publication accompanying Celia Álvarez Muñoz's first museum retrospective, Breaking the Binding.
Join us for a talk with Álvarez Muñoz moderated by MCASD Assistant Curator Isabel Casso, the release of limited-edition shirts at The Shop, and the video premiere of The Place in Between by Brad V.A., scored by Matty Terrones.
To further celebrate the art of storytelling, the San Diego-based independent bookstore Lang Books will be setting up a pop-up shop for zines and books.

The publication features artwork by Celia Álvarez Muñoz, essays by Dr. Kate Green, MCASD Assistant Curator Isabel Casso, and art historian Josh Franco, and a conversation between scholar Roberto Tejada and Álvarez Muñoz.
