About Teen Art Collective
MCASD invites 11th and 12th grade students from San Diego to join our teen program, Teen Art Collective (TAC). This is an opportunity for teens to meet for a year and learn about contemporary art, explore art collections, meet artists and art professionals, create art, and plan a museum exhibition.
Current cycle: September 2023 through May 2024
Weekly meetings every second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7PM (with some exceptions) at both the La Jolla and Downtown locations
Led by museum educators, TAC is an opportunity for teens to:
- Get lessons on art history with an emphasis on contemporary art
- Receive mentorship with Museum staff and local art professionals
- Enjoy hands-on creation
- Have fun at the end-of-year teen night exhibition and programming planned by teens
- Development a portfolio and documentation
