Teen Art Collective
About Teen Art Collective
MCASD invites 11th grade students from San Diego to join our teen program, Teen Art Collective (TAC). This is an opportunity for teens to meet for a year and learn about contemporary art, explore art collections, meet artists and art professionals, create art, and plan a museum exhibition.
Current cycle: September 2024 through June 2025
TAC meets weekly in La Jolla every second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 5 – 7PM (with some exceptions).
Led by museum educators, TAC is an opportunity for teens to:
- Get lessons on art history with an emphasis on contemporary art
- Receive mentorship with Museum staff and local art professionals
- Enjoy hands-on creation
- Plan an end-of-year Teen Night exhibition
- Develop a portfolio and documentation
