Play Day: Weaving Histories
Join us on Free Second Sunday for our free family series, Play Day!
Inspired by the work of Suchitra Mattai and her use of sari fabric scraps to reflect on history, culture, and the familial sharing of maker traditions, weave abstract, colorful scenes that convey your stories!
Art Activity: Create colorful weavings using recycled fabric scraps.
Schedule:
- At 11AM, explore works from Prospect 2024 with a kid friendly tour.
- At 12:30PM, listen to stories, songs, and rhymes in Storytime with Librarian on the Go, Ms. Katia Graham
- From 11AM-2PM, enjoy music by a local DJ, a cozy book nook, and sketching with water.
*Museum admission is free from 11AM – 5PM for all visitors, with Play Day offerings happening between 11AM – 2PM.
