Explore the diversity of exhibitions and programming that make up PST ART: Art & Science Collide through PST ART Weekends. This weekend, witness the cultural paradise that is San Diego and La Jolla with collaborative programming across cultural institutions.

Experience the For Dear Life: Art, Medicine, and Disability exhibition with special events and extended gallery hours, culminating in a FREE, all ages celebration on Saturday, November 23: PST ART Party at MCASD from 5 – 9PM.

Hours & Admission

Saturday, November 23

We are open for extended gallery hours from 11AM – 9PM.

From 11AM – 5PM, regular admission rates apply with exception to those who RSVP for the Sonic Meditations: Performance, which includes free admission to the Museum. From 5 – 9PM, Museum admission is free, coinciding with our PST ART Party.

Sonic Meditations: Performance

When: Saturday, November 23
3 – 5PM

Join Amy Cimini (Associate Professor of Music, UC San Diego) and Charissa Noble (Assistant Professor of Music, University of San Diego) for a two-day performance and workshop that draws upon the ideas and musical practices of composer Pauline Oliveros (1932-2016), as presented in Oliveros’ published collection, Sonic Meditations (1976), as well as her unpublished papers held locally at UCSD’s Geisel Library.

This event offers new performances of selected Meditations and invites visitors into Oliveros’ practice of sonic awareness.

PST ART Party at MCASD

When: Saturday, November 23
5 – 9PM

Join Getty and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego to celebrate the San Diego & La Jolla PST ART Weekend with an evening featuring Local and International DJ programming from global radio platform NTS, outdoor activities with Usal project, and food and drinks, highlighting MCASD's current PST ART exhibition For Dear Life: Art, Medicine, and Disability.

Sonic Meditations: Workshop

When: Sunday, November 24
1 – 4PM

This workshop offers a collective exploration of the histories, materials, and social concerns that shaped Pauline Oliveros’ work with the Sonic Meditations and other facets of her practice. Our experience will illuminate the Meditations through archival materials and explore connections between sound and voice with ecology, embodiment, and justice in our contemporary historical moment. Participants can expect to create collective experiments with voice and sound in museum spaces.
