Join the MCASD Education and Engagement team for Play Day on Free Second Sunday!  

This June 14, bring the family for a free, hands-on art adventure inspired by Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys, featuring Odili Donald Odita, Esther Mahlangu, and Hank Willis Thomas. Explore bold colors and patterns, paint together, join a tour, listen to stories, and help create a giant community artwork. All ages welcome. Come make art and memories! 

Art Activity: make tape resist paintings on canvas

Additional Programming:

• At 11AM, join a kid friendly tour exploring art from Giants
• From 11AM-2PM, enjoy music, cozy up in the book nook, and play freely or contribute to the community mural and cardboard house painting on McGrath Terrace
• At 12:30PM, sing, listen, and laugh at Storytime with Ms. Katia, Librarian On the Go

*Museum admission is free from 11AM – 5PM for all visitors, with Play Day offerings happening between 11AM – 2PM. No RSVPs are required for Play Day admission.

¡Prepárate para el «Play Day» el domingo 14 de junio! Trae a toda la familia a una aventura artística gratuita e interactiva inspirada en «Giants: Arte de la Colección Dean de Swizz Beatz y Alicia Keys», con obras de Odili Donald Odita, Esther Mahlangu y Hank Willis Thomas. Explora colores y motivos llamativos, pintad juntos, participad en una visita guiada, escuchad cuentos y ayudad a crear una obra de arte comunitaria gigante. Todas las edades son bienvenidas. ¡Ven a crear arte y a crear recuerdos!  

• 11:00–2:00: Acércate y crea pinturas con la técnica de la máscara de cinta adhesiva sobre lienzo en el Prebys Learning Center 
• 11:00: Descubre el arte de la nueva exposición especial del MCASD «Giants: Arte de la Colección Dean de Swizz Beats y Alicia Keys» 
• 12:30: Canta, escucha y ríete en la hora del cuento con la Sra. Katia, bibliotecaria itinerante 
• 11:00–2:00: Disfruta de la música, acurrúcate en el rincón de lectura, juega libremente y contribuye al mural comunitario y a la pintura de la casa de cartón en la terraza McGrath

Play Day is a monthly event at the Museum designed for families to explore art together. Activities include special tours, hands-on projects, and at-your-own-pace guides. Centered at the Conrad Prebys Learning Center and extending into the galleries and terraces, each Play Day offers new and engaging ways to experience the artworks on display.
