MCASD is excited to collaborate with the Barona Cultural Center & Museum this May!
In their Kumeyaay culture class, 8th graders learned about native pollinators, their pivotal role in our environment, and Kumeyaay philosophy. Alongside MCASD educators, these 8th graders made connections to MCASD's permanent collection galleries while learning how to create contemporary art pieces that connect pollinators to these Native lands and knowledge.
Showcase dates are open to the public during our gallery hours, 10AM – 4PM.
Extended School Partnership (ESP) empowers 6th – 12th-grade teachers to use the Museum as an extension of the classroom. Students and teachers engage in creative thinking and cross-disciplinary learning by integrating contemporary art into curricula and using the Museum as a learning resource.
For any inquiries, please contact the Education Department at education@mcasd.org
ESP is supported by the Samuel H. French and Katherine Weaver French Fund, the ResMed and Sundt Foundations.
