This year's event will also feature a book signing from 2 – 3PM with local artist Perry Vasquez. According to Vasquez, "25 Palm Trees in Paradise is a book that is not a book about a tree that is not a tree.” Its pages offer the viewer a survey of Vásquez’s “burning palm tree” paintings, created over the last ten years, that explore the palm’s many moods and manifestations.
Mr. Perry Vásquez is a multi-disciplinary artist living in the US/Mexico border region where he has been active since 1987. His portfolio includes a range of media from painting to sound and video installation, photography and cartography. Perry’s work embraces the mixture of histories, cultures, and identities that collide at the US/Mexico border. The energy produced by these collisions reveal hidden patterns and connections that fuel his art. Most recently, his paintings of palm trees reflect an interest in nature as a conduit for ideology, mythology and crisis. Perry has a A.B. in Political Science and Art practice from Stanford University and an M.F.A. in Painting and Criticism from the University of California San Diego.

Presented on an Ohmega HiFi Soundsystem:
Ohmega HiFi started as a project to bring an analog, all vinyl, high fidelity sound system experience into the average DJ space. As collectors and lovers of sound and vinyl for obvious reasons. We didn’t know of anyone else doing it at the time, and really loved the intention and creativity that many folks alike were putting into their spaces. We wanted to bring that experience with us and take it to places that hadn’t yet experienced it… and here we are, doing it with passion and intention.
With Part Time Lover HIFI, we want to provide a communal hub that revolves around the broad spectrum of what great music is. Traditionally in our projects, we have very specific ideas about what quality is and what taste is. This is the first time that it has been very important for us to create a space that is not a reflection of any one person’s idea. We are not here to say what good music is. We are about creating a community space that is a reflection of all of these different voices and putting them all together.
In Sheep's Clothing is a home for analog music culture. We cultivate discovery and community through active listening experiences, record popups, and music editorial.
In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi began in 2018 as a listening bar in Los Angeles’ Arts District. Powered by a legendary Klipschorn soundsystem and a collection of 300+ records from around the world, In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi created a truly one-of-a-kind sonic music discovery experience that took the jazz-kissa concept to new heights.
Currently, In Sheep's Clothing operates a record store pop-up in collaboration with independent radio station dublab. The community-oriented market, called Sound & Vision, is located at ROW DTLA
