Join Future is Color Studio Sessions and MCASD for a special Halloween edition of Jazz Night!
Inspired by the energy of Soul Train, the evening brings together deep listening, live music, costumes, dancing, and collective participation across the museum. Inside Axline Court, join a special Listening Room of Thriller by Michael Jackson and an intimate dance party with a vinyl DJ moving through funk, soul, disco, and boogie. Simultaneously in Art Park, move between lively DJs, a live band, dancing, and costume moments! At the height of the evening, a Soul Train-inspired dance line will open through the crowd, inviting guests to step into the center and participate in an electrifying costume contest.
5PM: Doors Open
Guests experience the album together while exploring the music, cultural impact, visual world, and enduring relationship the record has with Halloween.
A vinyl DJ continues the energy of Thriller through a smaller, more intimate dance party, moving through funk, soul, disco, boogie, and records connected to the spirit of the album.
The DJ sets the tone as the outdoor space begins to fill.
The band carries the night through funk, soul, disco, and dance music, creating the shared musical centerpiece.
At the height of the evening, the audience becomes part of the show.
A Soul Train-inspired dance line opens through the crowd, inviting guests to step into the center and bring their movement, costume, style, and personality into the experience.
The moment also becomes the setting for the costume contest.

Music has the power to gather us, heal us, and connect us. Historically, sonic gathering spaces have been at the heart of revolutionary movements. They were spaces where individuals, particularly from marginalized communities, could fully express and be seen, and where the artificial barriers between people could be broken down by a unifying rhythm.
FUTURE IS COLOR Studio sessions is our weekly live music experience and sonic gathering space rooted on these principles of bringing community together in love.
Studio Sessions, an extension of the Future Is Color brand mission.
