This winter, MCASD is looking forward to presenting two art exhibitions created through our Extended School Partnership (ESP)!
Throughout the semester, MCASD Educators have been visiting classrooms and leading tours that speak to how artists in the collection build their practice. Students learned how artists develop processes that speak to their conceptual interests, while finding inspiration and routines that sustain them.
In turn, these young artists have created works that explore their own developing relationship with art.
The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Art’s Senior Studios class, High Tech High Mesa’s 12th Grade Digital Art and 12th Grade English, and The Bishop’s School Digital Media 1 & 2 classes will showcase 153 artworks in Axline Court from December 12 – January 18.
Showcase dates are open to the public during our gallery hours: Thursday – Saturday from 11AM – 7PM and Sunday from 11AM – 5PM.
Extended School Partnership (ESP) empowers 6th – 12th-grade teachers to use the Museum as an extension of the classroom. Students and teachers engage in creative thinking and cross-disciplinary learning by integrating contemporary art into curricula and using the Museum as a learning resource.
