MCASD is excited to host an Extended School Partnership showcase with the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts this Winter!
Taking inspiration from MCASD’s exhibition, For Dear Life: Art, Medicine, and Disability, students learned how contemporary artists explore life and health alongside social movements from the 60s to 2020. Working with their teachers and MCASD educators, these young artists then created art pieces inspired by their intersectional experiences and community support systems.
The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts students enrolled in AP Studio Art will showcase their art in Gordon Gray Gallery from from January 31, 2025 – February 23, 2025.
Showcase dates are open to the public during our gallery hours: Thursday – Saturday from 11AM – 7PM and Sunday from 11AM – 5PM.
Extended School Partnership (ESP) empowers 6th – 12th-grade teachers to use the Museum as an extension of the classroom. Students and teachers engage in creative thinking and cross-disciplinary learning by integrating contemporary art into curricula and using the Museum as a learning resource.
For any inquiries, please contact the Education Department at education@mcasd.org
ESP is supported by the Samuel H. French and Katherine Weaver French Fund, the ResMed and Sundt Foundations.
