"Bridging Barrios" Public Opening

4 – 7PM
Axline Court
Free with Museum admission

Join us for the opening reception of Bridging Barrios in MCASD's Axline Court.

Bridging Barrios is an arts and community initiative that harnesses the healing and connecting power of art to elevate the voices, stories, and creativity of people affected by homelessness. The show is presented by MCASD, Humble Designs, Monarch Schools, and the Latatorre Foundation.

About

Sparked by Barrio Logan-based nonprofits Humble Design and Monarch School Project, Bridging Barrios is an homage to the community they serve, pairing portrait photography of Humble Design clients with original artwork by Monarch students.

Showcase dates are open to the public during our gallery hours: Thursday – Saturday from 11AM – 7PM and Sunday from 11AM – 5PM.

Inspired by Hometown Heroes, an exhibition of photography by Barrio Logan artists MJ Pimentel, Oscar Cruz, and Chata, Bridging Barrios brings organizations together to share stories of tenacity, rebuilding, and belonging.

Bridging Barrios is made possible through the collaboration of Future Is Color, L+L Printing, and CG Art Collective, and this traveling show is hosted with the Latattore Foundation, Dreams + Ducats, Por Vida Cafe, and 24 Seven Creative Studios.
