May 22, 2025 - SAN DIEGO – The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is thrilled to announce the return of EXPO Design Market 2025, a dynamic two-day event showcasing the best of publishing, design, music, and more. Taking place June 14–15, 2025, from 11 AM to 5 PM at MCASD’s La Jolla location, this free, all-ages event invites the public to engage with cutting-edge creativity and connect with local and regional innovators. EXPO fosters the exchange of ideas, networking, and collaboration, encouraging meaningful connections across disciplines. Aligned with MCASD’s mission to invite all audiences to experience our world, our region, and ourselves through the prism of contemporary art, EXPO 2025 will spotlight emerging and established talent, offering attendees a chance to explore interactive installations, pop-up shops, and live performances.
Highlights of EXPO Design Market 2025:
- EXPO Lightrip: Daytime DJ sets curated by Chapter One Records (Los Angeles) in Gartner Court, setting the tone for a weekend of rhythm and creativity.
- EXPO Lab: Immersive activations in the Prebys Education Center, featuring:
- Saturday, June 14: A special book signing with professional skateboarder, artist, and photographer Ed Templeton for his acclaimed publication Wires Crossed (Aperture).
- Sunday, June 15: Film screenings of Swampy Diaries, with showtimes at 12 PM and 3 PM.
- Vendor Marketplace: A curated selection of local and regional designers, publishers, and makers.

MCASD is thrilled to announce the return of EXPO After Dark—an electrifying off-site celebration. This must-see nightlife spectacle takes place at The Soap Factory, a unique event venue situated in a historic 1920s Pacific Bell building located in Logan Heights. Building on last year’s success, this year’s event promises an even more immersive fusion of cutting-edge music, visionary art, and vibrant community connection. Dance under the stars to world-class headliners—including rare San Diego performances by groundbreaking artists—alongside homegrown talent, all while surrounded by dazzling large-scale visual installations.
