Avant Garde
Avant Garde is MCASD’s newest special interest group created especially for art enthusiasts between the ages of 25 and 40-something to network with artists, curators, collectors, and peers, while experiencing the best in contemporary culture.
As a member of Avant Garde, you will enjoy an exciting schedule of social, philanthropic, and educational events within the Museum and the San Diego arts community. Recent events included a walking tour of the La Jolla murals with Director Hugh Davies and Associate Curator Jill Dawsey, a tour of Kim MacConnel’s private studio in Encinitas, an exclusive TNT After Party, and the Summer Solstice Soiree, a communal dinner party on the terrace of MCASD La Jolla.
As a Member of Avant Garde, you will receive all the benefits of Dual/Family membership, PLUS:
- Dining opportunities with artists
- Artist studio tours and gallery hops
- Invitations to visit private art collections
- Social meet-ups for exhibition and gallery openings in nearby locales
