La Jolla, CA – November 10, 2025 – The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is thrilled to announce the return of Winter MKT, a vibrant fusion of music and merchandise taking place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 11 AM to 5 PM. This curated selection of vendors from Southern California and the bi-national region will showcase the best in gifting for the winter season. All attendees will also receive free admission to the museum as it takes place on their Free Second Sunday.
This year’s Winter MKT is co-curated by an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Part Time Lover, In Sheep’s Clothing, and We Share Records, bringing their staple pop-up, Japonesia, which celebrates Japanese culture through records, food, drinks, and goods. Together, they bring a unique flavor to the event, blending Japanese music and food culture with cutting-edge contemporary art.
In addition to Japanese-themed records, food, drinks and goods, the event will feature a book signing with local artist Perry Vasquez from 2-3 PM. According to Vasquez, “25 Palm Trees in Paradise, is a book that is not a book about a tree that is not a tree.” Its pages offer the viewer a survey of Vásquez’s “burning palm tree” paintings, created over the last ten years, that explore the palm’s many moods and manifestations.
Perry Vásquez is a contemporary artist living in the San Diego/Tijuana region. His work can be found in many public and private collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, The Cheech Center for Chicano Art and Culture, and the City of San Diego.
The stylish Shop at MCASD will be open and feature exclusive apparel, accessories, art books, jewelry and more.

Featured Vendors and Partners:
PTL – With Part Time Lover HIFI, we want to provide a communal hub that revolves around the broad spectrum of what great music is. Traditionally, in our projects, we have very specific ideas about what quality is and what taste is. This is the first time that it has been very important for us to create a space that is not a reflection of any one person’s idea. We are not here to say what good music is. We are about creating a community space that is a reflection of all of these different voices and putting them all together.
We Share is a California-based company dedicated to promoting Japanese hip culture through music and cuisine. Our mission is to provide the local community with experiences that connect them to the vibrant essence of contemporary Japan.
We Share Records’ signature event, Japonesia, unites music and culinary initiatives to uniquely celebrate Japanese hip culture. Each event features a rotating selection of high-end Japanese vendors, along with live music and curated food offerings, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the latest trends and tastes from Japan.
Japanese Music: pop-up record shop by We Share Records which features a diverse selection of Japanese vinyl, including City Pop and indie hits. Japonesia pops up weekly at various locations, offering a platform to discover the latest trends in Japanese music. By collaborating with local restaurants, Japonesia enhances the dining experience by spinning records that showcase the sounds of modern Japan.
Japanese Cuisine: Japonesia distributes premium Japanese food products, such as Wagyu and Sashimi, to butcher shops and restaurants throughout Los Angeles. By focusing on high-quality ingredients, Japonesia ensures that the community can enjoy the authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine, elevating their culinary experiences.
In Sheep's Clothing is a home for analog music culture. We cultivate discovery and community through active listening experiences, record popups, and music editorial.
In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi began in 2018 as a listening bar in Los Angeles’ Arts District. Powered by a legendary Klipschorn soundsystem and a collection of 300+ records from around the world, In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi created a truly one-of-a-kind sonic music discovery experience that took the jazz-kissa concept to new heights.
Currently, In Sheep's Clothing operates a record store pop-up in collaboration with independent radio station dublab. The community-oriented market, called Sound & Vision, is located at ROW DTLA
