Join the MCASD Education and Engagement team for Play Day on Free Second Sunday!  

This May 10, get creative with inspiration from MCASD's new exhibition Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys. Look at works by Barkley L. Hendricks and the ocean views from Prebys Learning Center to inspire your own framed seascapes. Then, create an art piece using watercolor pencils and paint markers and your giant ideas!

Art Activity: framed seascapes inspred by Giants

Additional Programming:

• At 11AM, join a kid friendly tour exploring art from Giants
• From 11AM-2PM, enjoy music, cozy up in the book nook, and play freely on McGrath Terrace.
• At 12:30PM, sing, listen, and laugh at Storytime with Ms. Katia, Librarian On the Go

*Museum admission is free from 11AM – 5PM for all visitors, with Play Day offerings happening between 11AM – 2PM. No RSVPs are required for Play Day admission.

• 12:30 PM: Canta, escucha y ríe en la Hora del Cuento con la Sra. Katia, Bibliotecaria Itinerante
• 11 AM–2 PM: Disfruta de música, acomódate en el rincón de lectura y juega libremente en McGrath Terrace

Play Day is a monthly event at the Museum designed for families to explore art together. Activities include special tours, hands-on projects, and at-your-own-pace guides. Centered at the Conrad Prebys Learning Center and extending into the galleries and terraces, each Play Day offers new and engaging ways to experience the artworks on display.
