Bring the family for a free, hands-on art adventure exploring memories! Inspired by the work of Gary Simmons, join MCASD educators as we smudge and draw a place from memory using chalkboard, Posca Markers, and acrylic paint!

Enjoy a kid-friendly tour, listen to stories, and enjoy a book nook. All ages welcome. Come make art and make memories! 

Art Activity: In Prebys Learning Center, smudge/draw a place from your memory using a combination of chalkboard, Posca Markers, and acrylic paint on small individual chalkboards–includes hangers so that they can hang at home!

Additional Programming:

• At 11AM, join a kid friendly tour exploring MCASD’s collection
• From 11AM-2PM, enjoy music, cozy up in the book nook, join a collective blackboard drawing activity, and play freely on McGrath Terrace.
• At 12:30PM, sing, listen, and laugh at Storytime with Ms. Katia, Librarian On the Go

*Museum admission is free from 11AM – 5PM for all visitors, with Play Day offerings happening between 11AM – 2PM. No RSVPs are required for Play Day admission.

¡Prepárate para el Play Day del domingo 11 de octubre! ¡Trae a toda la familia a disfrutar de una aventura artística gratuita e interactiva que explora los recuerdos! Inspirándonos en la obra de Gary Simmons, ¡únete a los educadores del MCASD para difuminar y dibujar un lugar de la memoria utilizando pizarra, marcadores Posca y pintura acrílica! 

Disfruta de una visita guiada adaptada a los niños, escucha cuentos y disfruta del rincón de lectura. Todas las edades son bienvenidas. ¡Ven a crear arte y a crear recuerdos! 

• 11:00–2:00: Pásate y difumina/dibuja un lugar de tu memoria usando una combinación de pizarra, marcadores Posca y pintura acrílica en pequeñas pizarras individuales (¡con colgadores para llevarlas a casa!) en el Prebys Learning Center. 
• 11:00: Descubre el arte de la colección permanente del MCASD. 
• 12:30: Canta, escucha y ríete en la hora del cuento con Ms. Katia, La bibliotecaria itinerante 
• 11:00–2:00: Disfruta de la música, acurrúcate en el rincón de lectura, participa en una actividad colectiva de dibujo en pizarra, y juega libremente en la terraza McGrath 

Play Day is a monthly event at the Museum designed for families to explore art together. Activities include special tours, hands-on projects, and at-your-own-pace guides. Centered at the Conrad Prebys Learning Center and extending into the galleries and terraces, each Play Day offers new and engaging ways to experience the artworks on display.
