MCASD and the University of California, San Diego have long collaborated to bring internationally acclaimed artists to San Diego through the annual Russell Lecture program. This year’s lecture features artist Rafa Esparza. Espraza is best known for his adobe brick installations, which were recently included in the Hammer Museum’s biennial exhibition Made in L.A. 2016: a, the, though, only and the 2017 Whitney Biennial.

The Russell Lecture is free for Members and UCSD faculty, staff, and students; $5 for students and seniors; $15 for non-members. MCASD Members at the Contributor level and above are invited to a special pre-lecture reception a 6 PM. Reception guests may RSVP by emailing rsvp@mcasd.org. Reception guests may collect their tickets at check in.

The lecture will take place at the Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) Auditorium, located at 10620 John Jay Hopkins Drive, San Diego, CA 92121.
