Downtown at Sundown

Thursday, Mar 16, 2017 - 5:00 PM-8:00 PM

Visual and performing arts converge at MCASD’s after-hours offering: Downtown at Sundown. On the third Thursday of every month, enjoy free Museum admission and exhibition tours, DJ-spun tunes, free entry at SDSU Downtown Gallery, drink specials at the adjacent Stone Brewing Company and The Flight Path Wine Bar & Bistro, food trucks, and so much more.

As always, Downtown at Sundown guests will enjoy free exhbition tours in MCASD's galleries at 5:30 and 6:45 PM. Exhibitions on view include Dimensions of Black: A Collaboration with the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art; Jennifer Steinkamp: Madame Curie; and Tristano di Robilant

At the SDSU Downtown Gallery, join a conversation with transborder artist Omar Pimienta and Borderclick participants. Borderclick is a digital living archive exploring the complexities of the daily transborder/transfronterizo aesthetic experience. The conversation will explore the ins-and-outs of life on both sides of the border, documentation as a tool for social justice, and a preview of their interactive data visualization. This event is presented in collaboration with The AjA Project and the California Arts Council. Follow the project on Instagram @Borderclick.
