MCASD and the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art (SDAAMFA) welcome you to celebrate contemporary African American art and culture at this special Family ArtLAB. Take part in a Look/Explore tour, followed by a hands on art-making activity inspired by artist McArthur Binion’s DNA series, currently on view as part of the Dimensions of Black exhibition.
Feed the whole family at the Food Fest, located outside the galleries on the Museum’s Figi Concourse. About a dozen food vendors will serve samples and food for purchase that highlights the African American restaurant community in our region. Enjoy Southern, Cajun, Creole, seafood, soul food, and more at this special celebration of African American art and culture.
