The After Party
The After Party is an after-hours, multi-level party experience staged throughout the Museum, and inspired by the essence of joie de vivre.
Find your bliss as the Museum comes to life after dark with special activations, musical performances, immersive art experiences, indulgent late-night treats, curated cocktails, and a vibrant dance floor, all inspired by the captivating upcoming exhibition Kelly Akashi: Formations.
Guests will enjoy a fully hosted bar for the night (cocktails and indulgent late-night snacks) and experience a lineup of live entertainment and experiences:
- Live DJ sets by DJ Kara and DJ M. Aurelius
- Suspend time on stage with a Karaoke Speakeasy
- A staged set Photo-Op inspired by the upcoming Kelly Akashi: Formations exhibition
- Mark the moment with semi-permanent, commitment free tattoos (lasts 7 – 14 days)
Guests will also: Preview Time Twine (California Poppy), a newly acquired work by Kelly Akashi, and MCASD's NEW permanent collection exhibition Eleanor Antin + My Barbarian.
Have the museum’s nighttime views of the Pacific guide you through Antin’s epic visual narrative and immerse you in theatrical work by the collective My Barbarian (Malik Gaines, Jade Gordon, and Alexandro Segade).
TICKET RAFFLE
This sell-out event is an experience to not be missed. Purchase your tickets by August 25 to enter a raffle for a stay at Orli La Jolla on the night of the After Party (valued at $625).
The raffle is generously provided by Orli, a newly restored boutique hotel, steps away from MCASD. Guests at the Orli experience a new way to stay that complements the evening’s spirit of joie de vivre.
